At Art&Joy studio, everyone can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of ceramics, experiencing the entire journey from the initial idea to the creation of the finished product. Our classes include both wheel throwing and hand-building techniques, allowing each participant to discover their creative abilities.

In the wheel throwing classes, the instructor closely monitors the shape and wall thickness of each piece, which requires precise movements and slow, careful rotation. This process is a true art form, where every touch matters. Once the shape is formed, the piece undergoes a drying phase before the first firing, transforming the clay into "bisque" — a sturdy yet still porous base, ready for the next stage.

Next comes the exciting glazing phase, where your piece is coated with a layer of glaze that gives it color, shine, and protective properties. The second firing at high temperatures fixes the glaze, creating a durable and resilient coating that delights the eye and preserves the uniqueness of each creation.

Hand building is a special process that allows participants to focus on the material and truly understand its nature. By creating forms without the use of a wheel, participants not only enhance their skills but also unleash their creative ideas. This activity teaches them to feel the material, encourages experimentation, and allows for the creation of unique, vibrant pieces filled with personal input.

At Art&Joy, each lesson is more than just an activity; it’s a genuine opportunity to connect with an ancient craft, develop creative skills, and discover a new hobby. Join us and experience the joy of creativity and self-expression in the world of ceramics!
